The driver of the train, sure want to avoid the accident. But since the two student didnt manage to budge, the driver DID apply his brakes but he watch helplessly to see the students being bumped by the train.
To add on, there was an incident a few years back in Johor where an elephant and the train crossed paths along the track. The train won. Nuff said.

that's obvious, considering how big and fast the train is.
consider the impact.
the only living thing in the world which can withstand (probably) a train crash like this is the giant sequoia tree.
The train is faster than the slow coach mrt.
just curious, but this KMT train goes to malaysia right? (if i remember correctly, got one cargo train service in SG which goes to Malaysia.......i think there's a train station around the raffles place area there.....not sure if it's raffles place, but somewhere around city area. If take Express 506 bus can see it).
if the train goes to malaysia, does it go via some railway link or something? as far as i know, the only physical link between MY and SG is the causeway (and maybe second link).

Train station's at Tanjung Pagar and 1 more Bukit Timah Station near KAP for crossing only.
The track runs just beside our precious water pipes on the causeway.

hi nikar.. there is a abandone railway track located along clementi ave 9 there..
do you know where is bukit timah railway station.. just way ALONG THE SIDE of the active track and you will notice a track leading into the thick forest.. thats the abandone industrail track leading jurong area.. just follow it .. and you will come across bridge ...
many marrying couple go to the ulu pandan bridge to take pictures shot..
take note.. NO train is working on that line because the rail has been CUT
Bukit Timah railway station is mainly used for train crossing and token passing (google it).
In any way, RIP to the couple. No point talking about it now. We shall open a new discussion about KTM. This is wayyyyyyyyyyyy off-topic.
thx a lot for the explanation folks....
i personally have seen railway tracks at Bukit Panjang (near Bukit Panjang Post Office), as well as near Dover - Buona Vista MRT (if take MRT, can see those tracks if u look out of the window), and also that track at Bukit Timah area (near the Rifle Range Road camp).
anyway, those tracks leading into the forest are creepy, though.
i can't believe married couples take pics there......got a chance that some dirty stuff may haunt them.
if wanna take pics, just get a background of train / railway tracks on the web and photoshop their own pics onto it. Nicer also.
