Ok, then this one would mean that it would be too long such that the government cannot confirm a time for when it can be built. Examples are a similar staion box below NEL Punggol Stn, for the proposed North Coast/North Shore Line

For this case, it is such that the proposed station may take more than 10 years if built to start operating etc, so they build a stn box instead first. E.g. are at Punggol, below NEL platform lies a stn box for North Coast/North Shore Line, which isnt even in the plan yet.

Stop dragging politics into the discussion. Kampong Bahru is tricky because not all of it belongs to Singapore. The part with "HDB" Blks 1 to 5 with wood names and the railway yard area belong to Malaysia under a 999 year lease iirc. Some maps don;t even print out this area, so you have to go down and see, although there is a bus stop named "Blk 2 Melati".
Just because Lee Kuan Yew is the MP there does not have anything to do with the way public transport is planned there. If you say the transport there is lousy, there's plenty of buses along Keppel Road and Jln Bukit Merah. Not forgetting the Tanjong Pagar MRT Station which has multiple exits. If you go further up, there's also Chinatown MRT Station. The other places untouched seem to be the private preserved and renovated shophouses anyway. Not like the owners don't own cars.
But seriously though, just to further understand your point. You find it weird that NE2 isn't built because of just 1 prominent leader of Singapore? Well, how do you explain Potong Pasir, Kovan and Hougang stations then?

O that is the main reason behind for no MRT in NE2. Regarding the latteral question, I think the history got say that there is some kind of public concern here and there and dont believe that the usage will be low and so bo bian (Do you know that Potong Pasir was not Potong Pasir, but Sennett and both the PP and Hougang are planned not to open as well) where I thought that the NE 2 area slient slient one, dunno what place is that.......

pai seh, that slipped out of my mind. Some areas are simply too "big" that needs multiple MRT stations.....
Anyway, just like Boon Lay MRT station is not really in Boon Lay area, unless it moves slightly up and right I think.......

I know about the name change. However, the stations were never meant to be closed. NE2 is near Raeburn Park and Spottiswoode Park Road. There are some HDB flats belonging to Singapore there, but is well served by buses along Keppel Road and Cantonment Road.

But I remebered that there was time, there was such speculation published on Chinese papers where the HG and PP might be closed, which both the MPs from both sides of politics will fight for the open if they got elected, esp. the PP side......
However, regarding area in Raeburn Park etc is someplace that I am not familiar with, apologize for making inconveience if any.

eh boy, stick to the topic. from CCL can drift to NEL then drift to MPs.

Wow, I was not aware. This means that some train only ply from Marymount to Paya Lebar (Probably Middle Platform)? Weird. I hope the main use of this middle platform is not for such use but for Marina Bay Extension. And why is not the CBD areas need more trains?
PS: It seemed that SMRT is contradicating, given that EWL (CGL is part of EWL) and NSL only shows the maximum of 6 mins, while CCL seemed to be 7, currently.
I think if trains run underground fully, mostly it will run on AM mode

Because the authorities expect the load between Paya Lebar and Dhoby Ghaut to be lower than between Marymount and Paya Lebar as commuters heading towards CBD area would have transferred to the NSL, NEL and EWL.
Hope got LTE and Evening Peak train on CCL..

I don't see a demand for lunchtime express just yet.

I know but I worried about "don't have any LTE and special train" in future.. :(

Since the CCL is fully automatic, timings can be more accurate, unlike the NSL and EWL.
Hi E5, so there will be a short working trips between Marymount and Paya Lebar is it when stage 1 and 2 commence service on 17 Apr?? May i know where did you get this information from??

I only know, from what I see from Paya Lebar, is that the Circle got a similar structure as NSL, such that there is a To Marymount, Dhoby Ghaut, and Tai Seng as well.
If what E5 says is true, that means the Circle line will have limited train service like the NSL, e.g. more trains between Marina Bay-Yishun and Jurong East-Yew Tee during peak periods.

of all lines, NSL & EWL has the worst off peak hr frequency of 7 - 8 mins. In any case when CCL4 & 5 is up and running, the peak hr freq would have to be adjusted again.
I believe they're banging on the Paya Lebar heavy corridor for the peak hour traffic.
Countdown to CCL 1 and 2 Open
12 days more!!
