I also took 023/024 on NEL last fri, but too many language announcements can be too complicated
Ya, I agree. Announcements will be too complicated, like Hong Kong MTR & Taipei MRT.
Originally posted by mrblue:I took 023/024 on 11 Dec, and recorded some next station announcements. Feel free to listen to them. As for the next station announcements of Interchange stations, it goes like this: *Chime* <Next Station, Serangoon Interchange, Passengers may alight, and change to the CCL> <实龙岗>, just like the approaching station announcement.

Oh yah, if I'm not wrong, 021/022 also has the new announcements.
omg...it sucks!

eg.<Chime> Next Station, Farrer Park. 花拉公å›.
<Chime> Next Station, Farrer Park. 下一站, èŠ±æ‹‰å…¬å› better

+1. How does the interchange eng and chinese?
NEL really getting more irritating n noisy hardly 2oseconds goes by without any announcements.. lucky its underground.. if not donno how those HDB residents think if the stations are above groud
I hope DTL no SBS.
This is funny because i was on 025/026 today and never hear such sounds leh. Was it a test by SBS and if they are happy, then they change all. Apparently, they may not liked it and therefore revert back liao?
the dun rush in when doors are closing one in 4 languages is oni activated when some joker tio kiap rite?
Originally posted by NickL_C151:Great, they're making the PRCs feel welcome.
at least most of the old folks would benefit... it's not like we have to pay more than they pay like what GV did :x

Only 023/024 have that announcement
This Is A Disaster!!
If you want to hear the don't rush when train door are closing or i think more precise is please keep clear of train doors . You have to tio kiap 2 times then can hear that . Course first time maybe the passenger skin too thick never feel so must kiap 2nd time confirm passenger feel pain then will remind one lol .
Lol, ya. But I agree with Tamago also. Although the multi-language announcements can be annoying, old ppl who are mostly illiterate will benefit a hell lot. PRCs will also feel more welcome.
Whoa then like that must put Bengali, Urdu, Hindi and Tamil for Little India Station liao
no need mah
they can catch the word "INDIA"
though some of them may be wanting to alight at farrer park though
i was thinking this oso kinda benefits the aunties unlces ah peks ah mas
which lead me to think again, why not in teochew, hokkien, cantonese, hakka......
if ur language does not get announced at each station, can we say it's discrimination?
I would prefer it to have it in 4 languages, or just English only. 4 languages isn't that long, but for Singapore announcements, they tend to like to drag it with unnecessary pauses. Eg. Next station *pause* Outram Park Interchange *pause longer* Passengers who are continuing their journey *short pause* on the North East Line *pause* please alight *short pause* at the next *short pause* station.
Italics = drag words

I mean this. Lemme give you an example.
*bell is eliminated* 750m before station
Next station, Eunos.
Xia yi zhan, You Nuo Shi.
Stesen berikutnya, Eunos.
(Tamil equivalent)
Above announcement only made once.
STARIS can scroll the messages in 4 languages throughout the journey.
All current station announcements are eliminated.
All serurity announcements are eliminated.
why NEL no have the stylo-mylo LED board thingy which shows the next station blinking and where the door open? (door open i tink no need since the doors all open on the same side but i still see some gong kias waiting at the wrong side)
the station names on the board can be in 4 languages and commuters can check it if they are not sure or cant hear or missed or dreaming in the train

Neither Circle Line has. Downtown Line seemed to have. Not sure for that.
