- BSD is actually called BD according to a smrt staff.
- The first C651 to get refurbished is in November 2010.
- Exterior Advertisements on all trains have been "banned" by smrt as smrt personnel is afraid of people who vandalize these advertisements.
I hope no more vandalise in the future and SMRT resume the exterior ad.
+1
Lower down the cost of ad.. The problem is ad retention nowadays
I just met with a CSO at random time as He is off duty today.. After doing some questioning.. Things were raised
After vandalism incident, ext ads are officially ban forever
During the last thursday meet with Ms Saw Piak Hua at SMRT HQ.. The following answers given
But currently, 231/232 and 209/210 have been frequent on CGL this few months.. So hard for them to get out from CGL
And I thought 225/226 would be first to go for refurb...

I do hope for 225/226 soon if 209/210 continues to run
Anyone who can spot 209/210 refurbrished would be good !

- First C651 refurbishment will start at the end of December this yr or Early Jan Next yr
- First unit to undergo refurbishment is 209/210
- Second and Third unit are 227/228 and 231/232 respectively
- Ext will be painted black.
- Int will most likely follow C151 R
- And the STARIS route maps and VFDs, they will be tear down during refurb and re-fitted them after their new look
- So first C651 to do refurbishment will take at least 3 months I think
But currently, 231/232 and 209/210 have been frequent on CGL this few months.. So hard for them to get out from CGL
No......C651s are the only trains left with the whit exterior! The SMRT Corp Comms
replied in an email that the trains will remain white! See, what for install STARIS in C651s when they will be torn down later during refurb.

No, they said they would "consider" keeping them white, which in other words, is a simple veto.
089/090 is inside BSD..
Currently Not in Service, under suspension
Due to faulty reasons. Most likely suspend until end of sept
managed to peek at YIS NB front, finally get to see the timetable slot..
Looks complicated, but one part that say, in yellow highlights "DB"

u mean that they don't have to change the panel that is currently used to fit the STARIS on C651? of course they would have to take it down temporarily to facilitate upgrading works on the train interior.
Out of the current 19 C651s
In my opinion, C651s are very lazy and irregular nowadays.. Its even worth it to send 225/226 for refurbishment now
uh... 225/226 is not the first C651 to be refurbrished...
Originally posted by SMRT/SBS Transit:uh... 225/226 is not the first C651 to be refurbrished...
that will be 209/210..
They should choose 225/226 first. If they send 209/210 to refurb, I think they will waste unnecessarily cost
I think 225/226 since it always MIA.
According to a sneak peek at the green ATP speed code lamps on the speedometer,
1) Train speed in ATO mode between Aljunied and Paya Lebar is 61 km/h
2) 78 km/h is attained between Choa Chu Kang and Bukit Gombak
3) Reduced speed to enter stations with uncompleted PSDs is 40 km/h
Spotted a livery tear on 021/022 [car 2021].
