I would like this. We no longer need to worry that we will run out of oil.

Those using wind energy need not worry about no-wind days.
Besides, Singapore got lots of dogs. Maybe can ask SP Power to cut down their bills for dog owners because they provide the poop. SP Power gain, owners gain. Fair.

[color=orange]Good idea using those waste, but the amount of energy from a very big mass of poop is very little. Time needed to obtain the combustable gas from the poop after it started to decompose.
Applied by three world countries, for cooking gas. Needed to handle with care, as it can be bit of toxic.
Solar plus wind power could be a better alternative source of energy.

Poop from cows, pigs and even human mixed with water can produce gases (some may combustible gas contain toxic) when started to decompose. For that chopping of woods, I doubt it. As you said, amount of gas obtained is very little and takes very long, those people in rural area don't need eat liao by the time they have collected everything. Chopping of woods will be more practical. -
