Yes, SBS, this is the energy balance for transient heat transfer, learnt in Year 2 Engineering. Remember, eagle, on the definition of Biot's number? And the Lumped Capacitance Method. I think, technically, heat generation within body = heat transfer to body surface area, but essentially, its the thermal conductivity and heat capacity that is important. And conductivity is perhaps related to crystal and atomic structure, while heat capacity relates to energy that the atoms can "absorb" before they lost their binding and changes state?
