Model Making

  Dear readers,

  Please share your experience with me.

  I need to make a model of Building of Singapore CBD area (UOB tower, OUB tower etc.), and a model of eygpt (Paramids) according to scale (e.g. 1: 500000). I know it is going to be tricky as I am currently only secondary 2.

  What type of material should I use to create the model? For the base (land), what should I use? Where do I buy them?

  I will appreciate any answer from you guys.

  can try bras basah complex for the materials

  Use those 'playdoh' clay which children play with for the base.

  Then use cardboard or styrofoam board for the buildings.

  All these stuffs are easily available at Popular Bookstore.

  technical board, styrofoam boat, art card, ivory card.

   

  dont use clay unless u are very skillful. time consuming.

   

  go visit art friend for more materials.

   

  scale 1: 500000???

  uhu glue, white board, pen knife and a metal ruler are all u need...

  

   

   

  and 1:500000 is very very very small...

  The scale was only an example, the real one I had yet to analyse. How do I build a paramid?

  There are a few ways to build one.

  I suggest you cut 3 or 4 pieces of styrofoam and stick them together. There, a pyramid.

  Not all of the Popular Bookstore sell styrofoam boards, so you may want to try some of the handcraft workshops if you cannot find them at the Popular near your house.

  As for cardboards, you can try picking them up from the dump sites of shopping centres, though some security guards might not let you do so.

  You should go to Art friend on the 3rd level , go by the escalator ...
