hi. duno if im posting at the right forum, but anw, its regarding my school stuffs.
im wondering if anyone of you came across any food products which does not have packaging that's functionable.
For example; some tubelike-packaged potato chips;
it's kinda hard to retrieve the chips at the bottom once u're finishing it.
i've alrdy got some ideas, but still lacking. hope you guys can suggest some food products that need some improvements in their packaging.
Tic-Tac and other similar products.
As some might have noticed, the 'candies' inside get stuck now and then, and one might miss out on one of two of the 'candies' because the brand name taped on it blocked out some parts of the container.
What I suggest is for the shape to be changed cubic instead of rectangular. This will ensure that the 'candies' has no chance of getting stuck.
Hopefully this silly piece of evaluation will help you out.
TIC TAC
cube shape makes it less handy, take up more space, and less easier to store.
imagine having a cube shape object in your pants, it's aren't sightful.
while the original design, rectangular cuboid, it's design for easy keeping in the pocket.
The produce is design in such a way that it's comes in handy when you need it.
Also, the 1cm(approx) wide designs makes it easier for packing & storage for manufacturer and supplier.

Okay, I didn't think of that beforehand.
How about you help out also : D
How about Khong Guan biscuits? Unlike some of the other similar brands of biscuits which put their biscuits in a tray before wrapping it up, Khong guan doesn't do so. You will have to 'fight' with the 1st few pieces of biscuits to get them out, as it is very tight-packed. This usually results in a couple of broken biscuits.
I know it can be argued that this is to save space, but look, we are looking for flaws, not benefits.
To be honest to the TS, it is very hard to find flaws in SG food products. The best you could find are only minor flaws. : X
When you buy potato chips that come in plastic tubes, check out the bottom of the tube to see that they are sealed well.
I once looked into a finished tube and saw light at the bottom, the seam wasn't done well and there is a hole.
crisps needs tube packaging to retain their shape...
worst packaging could be canned food IMO.
Waste the material, takes up more space, risks cuts to users..

all my sauces and oils has a wide opening reaching the rim
except for the bottle of 志香麻油 and Heinz BBQ sauce
the Heinz BBQ sauce is designed with small round protuded opening, but it is situated more to the rim and also BBQ sauce is more vicous thus not messy
志香麻油 is designed with a small round protuded opening in the middle on top. this causes my 麻油 excess drips always and messes up the whole hand and bottle. a solution would be not to design it protuded, but as a normal hollowed opening to it's rim like other kinds of sauces and oils
i always have a problem with oyster sauce
shake shake shake bery hard to get one blob out
sometimes over-shake then spill too much out
they shd come im pump bottles or something like tt
some packet potato chips oso bery hard to open
when u use a bit more force, u get a shower of potato chips on ur head
and canned drinks shd be manicure-friendly
ok. thx everyone for sharing. i somehow can improvise on the various ideas so that more convenient food stuffs are available in the market.
and btw, about the oyster sauce tingy, i think the company should use the heinz tomato sauce idea where the bottles are made of plastic and are squeezable.
so basically, such ideas are already thought by others.
so, personally, i also feel it's kinda hard to think of packaging that can be improvised.
as i'm afriad of plagiarising w/o knowing.
anw, thx for all ur ideas. :D
u dun need to invent a new thing
u can improve, modify, manipulate existing stuff....
still considered "new" idea wat
