I don't think there will be many differences between the two courses.
FASS merely stands for faculty of arts and social sciences.
On the otherhand, NUS rank MUCH higher than NTU in social sciences, so go figure.

NTU social science school is a new school that is only starting to produce graduates so its unfair to compare it directly to NUS FASS which is established and has alot more graduates in the market then NTU.
However, all the new schools in NUS starts with academic staff from NUS and NTU continues to attract staff from NUS to crossover to NTU so there should be some reasoning behind that.

Better pay and employee rights?
I don't know about it, but maybe those who crossed over are those bottom-flingers at NUS. Being in a new school in NTU will be a better career-choice for them.

That is something only they will know and not us especially the social science school but for me in the SPMS CBC Div, we have some of the more experienced NUS profs coming over and not the new young 1s.

Assuming you are not female, I have a 1 in 31 chance of guessing your identity.

Haha, i WISH. I don't mind the school paying me instead of me paying them 6k a yr :p
The only people i meet recently are the undecided students who visited the school last sat for the tour.
Deleted.
i have the exact same dilemma too. can't decide between them. anyone able to share what's the difference between the 2 schools? that'd be a big help for me to choose my uni.

Base on what dkcx said, will you:
a) Choose NUS, a school with a well-established econ sector,
OR
b) Choose NTU, a school with a new econ sector?
That is about all the difference, I guess. If what dkcx said is true, that NTU lecturors are former NUS lecturors, I don't think the stuffs taught will be much different.

Look at 18 and 89, that is all you need to know : D
sometimes do ranking matter? it all matters whether is it relavant for the region in particular
An econs degree from Harvard will trump the econs degree from nus or ntu.
Really.
A faculty is as good as its pool of academic staff (and quality students).
A university will lose its ranking when it loses quality staff (and quality students)while another university will gain in ranking when it gains quality staff (and quality students).
One should also take a good look at SMU Economics department who has gained a large pool of academic and practising economists and quality students.
The graduates of SMU Economics Department tops the last year starting salary of fresh graduates of SMU.

Very true....not that many business people follow what they learn anyway.
What many successful business men learned is to use the most underhanded but legal methods to earn money. Lots of 'politics' behind business, I dare say.
