My current handwriting is near illegible and I believe my current pen grip is wrong. However, when i try to write with another grip, it becomes worse. Bad handwriting has been costing me marks and I plan to change it once and for all
This is my unorthodox pen grip, Is it correct?
Is there any way to improve my penmanship? Contributions will be greatly appreciated.
Actually, if you change your habit for holding a pen and keep with it, you might force yourself to become better just to get used to holding the pen that way. In my case, I used to hold my pen with it pressing against the side of middle finger, which I think is the way most people do it, until my mother one day suggested to me to hold it between three fingers so to not get a dent in the side of my middle finger, and my handwriting became better after I got used to it, just because of a different style for holding the pen.

When you change your pen-grip, your hand will have to get use to it for a while before your handwriting will become something that is legible.

Hope this helps.
The only way is to practise writing. And start noticing how you write - are you gripping the pen too tight, are you holding it at a comfortable angle, etc. Its hard work but there's nothing else but just to practise writing and writing! I had the same problem too and I remember a teacher told me that my forearm and shoulder should move as I write. Otherwise, itis my fingers doing most of the work which quickly leads to fatigue and illegible handwriting.
Practice hard, and choose a pen which you feel that will give you the best handwriting.
Though the type of pen you use doesn't not affect the quality of the student( nah.. I just don't take that), but.. I still feel that every student deserves a pen that suits their need.
;) popular has a large collection of pens. G2, pilot, etc etc you name it. Go there test a while and post your feedback.
Try not to find a pen which has a very small puny size. :-X it's gonna strain your muscles holding firmly.
Rubber grip sounds like a good choice~ but also depend on the overall size of the pen.
