  The figure above shows two curves y = f(x) and y = g(x) intersecting at three points (0,0), (1,2) and (2,0) for 0 <= x <=2.  It is given that f(x) - g(x) = 2 sin pi x. 

  Find the area of the shaded region as shown in the figure.

    Area = integral {0, 1} [ f(x) - g(x) ] dx + integral {1, 2} [ g(x) - f(x) ] dx.

  Thanks Wen Shih, btw the answer is 2.55 in case anyone would like to try it out.
