Useless, a waste of time and for show only

ahdi - uniform group teach people endurance and leadership , but to me i learned more endurance but leadership...not really cause got lots of flavouring and unfairness that piss me and my friend off , i got respected a lot by my juniors and that feels good cause u can control them and toture lol and u get to shoot a gun.U will make lots and lots of friends there and easy to spot asshole and poser
It depends on the school and year of course. I was fortunate to have a good environment and I can definitely say I'm a better person after going through it with the right attitude. Even the bad experiences are worth learning from.
Corporal punishment is obviously going to be present. I honestly can't imagine uniformed groups without it, nor would I want to join one. Hardship builds character.
the ones in my school are a waste of time. 100% of the time if you see them they'll definitely be doing push-ups.
if you are a girl, join, since the well-muscled instructors usually treat girls quite nicely.
if guy, don't bother, uniform groups are nothing like the army you will be joining later.
used to have a lot of bullying from the uni groups in my school =P
join it dude...its not a waste of time...its good for your graduation cert lol. if you're gonna be scared of corporal punishments now, then wat of NS?

you do know that while your seniors in sec school uni groups can and will smack you across the face if they don't like you (since school teachers rarely care, mine didn't), they can't do corporal punishment in NS except in DB? most you get is 30 pushups/sit-ups (20 from sergeants to you) for punishment.
of course, if you have such bad luck to end up in Ninja or Mohawk coy in BMT, good luck!
