For those interested... if u know any seniors who has this book:
A-level Physics by Roger Muncaster, Fourth Edition, first published 1981, fourth edition in 1993, reprinted in 1995
It has both notes on semicon and lots of questions on Semiconductors at the back of the book. Right now, I'm typing the questions into a worksheet for my students... Not sure if I can finish in time... And then maybe try to do some on ExamWorld
Example question for those who would want to try:
1) What is the difference between intrinsic and extrinsic conduction in semiconductors? Explain the effect of an increase of temperature on intrinsic conduction. How does this differ from the effect of an increase in temperature on a metallic conductor?
2)
(a) Give a typical sketch of the energy bands or levels at which electrons may reside in a pure semiconductor, such as silicon.
(b) Use your sketch to explain briefly:
(i) electric conduction in pure silicon due to holes and electrons,
(ii) the variation of semiconductor resistivity with temperature.
Do try... maybe u can do and let me put on ExamWorld, so save me the effort
