1) 5/6m of raffia is cut into shorter pieces. Each of the shorter pieces must measure 1/4m.
a )How many 1/4m pieces are there?
b) What is the length of the remaining pieces?
2) A figure is made up of Rectangle PQRS and Square QTUR. The ratio of the length of the square QTUR is 256 square cm, find the area of Rectangle PQRS.
(Im sorry there's suppose to be a diagram but i can't really draw it on the computer)
3) Kelly and Angel shared a sum of $1200. After Kelly spent 1/5 of her money and Angel spent $93, they each had the same amount of money left. How much money did Angel have at first?
4) There were sine $2,$5 and $100 notes in Jane's wallet. The value of the $2,$5 and $100 was in the ratio 4:5:3. After spending 50% of her $100 notes,100 of her $2 notes and 4/5 of her $5 notes, Jane had $450 left. Find the total amount of money Jane had in her wallet at first.
5) A bookstore sells 3 pens and 2 files for $8.50. It also sells 4 similar pens and 3 similar files for $12. Mr LIm spent $90 to buy a number of these pens and files in the ratio 2:3
a) Find the cost of one file.
b) How many such files did he buy?

1a) 5/6m of a string = 83.33cm
1/4m = 25cmHow many 25cm are there in 83.33cm? Answer: 3.
b) Leng of the remaining pieces
83.33 - 3(25) = 8.3cm.
2. Unable to work out the solution to find the area of rectangle due to lack of info.
The square is inside the Rectangle. Visual it and you'll see QR is actually the width of the rectangle (and also the side of the square).
QR = sqrt 256
QR = 16cm. (that's the width of the rect and square).3.
4/4 unit + 4/4 unit + 1/4 unit + $93 = =$1200
9/4 unit = $1200 -$93 = $1107
1/4 unit (one box) = $123Angel = 4 ($123) + $93 = $585

It means 1p and and 1f = $12 - $3.50 = $3.50

3(1.50) + 2f = $8.5
2f = $8.50 - $4.50
f = $2.
One file cost $2.$90 of pen and file in the ration of 2:3.
so it means, the calculate amt must fit $3 (2p) :$6 (3f)Using trial and error, the answer I got is
20pen and 30file.

20 (1.50) + 30(2) = $90 (Matched)there fore, he bought 30 files.
