As the title states. Is a Co-Curricular activity really required for a DSA admission into Tertiary Education Centres? I don't really know how this system works but from what I understand, a student is able to gain admission into a particular school before the traditional selection process takes place. After doing a bit of Googling, I discovered that many of the Junior Colleges and Polytechnics..well actually all of the ones I've seen, require at least an excellence in a particular CCA.
So a website states that all applicants who have talents in the Sports for example..or the Performing Arts for, and wants to enter the school, has to submit his/her cca records about that area, academic records and a teachers reccomendation(Optional), and has to pass an interview. That's all okay and all and I am able to produce a teachers letter and academic records. But here is the problem, if lets say I am not a member of the required cca, nor do I have any external certificates for it, but somehow am able to pass the interview smoothly , will I still stand a chance? Or can I even take part in the interview in the first place? If I am able to read musical notes because of a parent or so, but don't have any certificates to prove it, can I still take part in the exercise? I know that the JAE is the main process of entering a tertiary education centre but I just want to give myself a little more chance and not make the same mistake as in the PSLE. Thanks for the help.
P.S I made this thread at 2.16am so don't mind my awkward phrasing.
