The faces of an unbiased die are numbered 1 - 6. three such dice are used in a experiment
The first 1 is thrown and the number shown on the top face is a 5. The second and third die are then thrown. Calculate as a fraction, the probability that
All 3 numbers shown are odd
Isn't the solution supposed to be (0.5)^3 = 1/8
But the answer i have with me says it is 1/4.
Did i go wrong somewhere?
The first result (5) is already determined ie odd. (ie prob = 1)
You just need to calculate the conditional probability of the next 2 throws given that the first throw was odd. ie. (1) x (0.5) x (0.5) = 0.25
