I have decided to take computer engineering as a course for poly (coz i want to be a IT professional =D). But i dun noe what poly shuld i go to pursue this course.

Wth sia.. soo r u trying to say taking computer engineering course is a bad idea? Then how sia... i love computers and i want high pay. i dun mind taking aeronautics. but dam hard to get job for aeronautics sia.. sway liao la...

If it's for future potential, forget it. There are many foreign uni grads for computer engineering vying for the same job as you, and demanding equal pay as you.
You mention you want high pay. Uni grad engineers already don't have high pay....

Im sure im not gonna take finance coz its smthing i hate and which bores me. lol. i'll probably take aeronautics or stick with computer engineering.

We have a forumer, fishbuff, who migrated to Aussie because he felt that his work in IT here had no potential.
I think he's very happy there now..

To angel3070: Umm my parents want me to make my own choice and live with it. They say this is my life and im suppose to decide what to do.
To maskedangel: There is programming. But its more of computer mechanics. U learn about the hardware and and how a computer system works and etc. U even learn about the systems of a mobile phone. Personally, i feel computer engineering is more of a all rounder. Thats why i like this course.
To eagle: What experiment lol?
To every1: Thanks guyz.. basically what i have learnt from your replies is that the main problem is that there are many talented foreigners working in the IT line of singapore. Eagle have also mentioned about a forumer who migrated to aussie because he felt working here is hopeless as IT. i will take that in mind thanks. I will never think of migrating lol. My great grandparents moved from Saudia Arabia to U.A.E(Dubai), my grandparents moved from U.A.E(Dubai) to India and my parents moved from India to Singapore. I dun wanna continue this migrating tradition lol.

You know why. COS I am from that stupid Faculty. My mates all say we are being con in. I rather you take electrical engineering or precision type. Manufacturing is very useless. Can work in so many sectors. EI can work where. same as IT. All work computer firm.For me, i am into logistic instead.

EI is about mainly PROGRAMMING via Different prototype software. THe poly should revised the things again. TO me, i feel we are only being teach halfway. The real art of programming we need to explore on our own. I used to use oversea programming to ask my teacher. YOu guess what they say. He beat around the bush and in the end ask you to figure out on your own.I think foreigners are really pro. ANYTIME they can take over locals. Locals are only being suit as their assistant or office boy. IT Tan bo lui.

Singapore is known as a financial hub, not IT hub. Don't take it if you don't have it.
And please don't take computer engineering. It's horrible, my friend takes it and his year 2 exam paper is similar to what I've learnt in my first semester.
