sometimes i study by doing practise, but the thing is, when i practise, i dun actually practise but i formulate the answer in my mind then i refer to it ?
for me it saves time because i dunid to write down the answer ma.
so what is actually the advan and disadvan of such a method ?
How about this??
Try integrating 1 / (1 - e-x) dx

a) i dun take am
b) i use the above method for everything cept maths.
ps should have mentioned it. =x
:)
For Physics, should be ok...
The only other thing you need to take note of is speed and legibility of your writing :)

spd is fine but my legibility canot improve. sucks. lol.
evn if i were to write also no point cause i dun see purpose in writing neat for practise. lol.
Hi,
The practice of writing neatly will condition you to do so automatically during the exam. Thanks!

I helped my gf mark papers before when there were too many.
We agreed together that if an answer is too illegible and needs a lot more effort than normal to be read, it will be marked as zero with the comment "Pls write legibly"
If you have reasonable knowledge of how to use the formula and have practised many times already then In my opinion correct identification of forumlas is enough. your this method is more for revision
to eagle and wee_ws
my handwriting is okay, and so far none of my teacher has commented that it is too messy or sth ?
personally i find attempting to improve my handwriting useless, because 10years of education is like that, thou it was improved quite a lot.
so... yes.
then how...? lol X.X
ya i using it for revision.
Hi,
Thinking and writing are different activities, and exams focus on the latter.
In your usual revision, you need to condition yourself to write under exam conditions (i.e. under time constraint continuously for the duration of the exam paper).
Thanks!
P.S. Here is a personal sharing. When I think about research, I do not go very far in developing the concepts, except having a very generalised idea; but when I write, I see many things that ought to be thought further.
Furthermore, thinking causes the mind to weigh heavily, metaphorically speaking. If the mind is not clear and one's understanding is incomplete, one easily gets into circular reasoning repeatedly, causing unnecessary frustration. Writing makes things much clearer and direct on paper, as one may be able to organise ideas better physically. Thanks again.
Cheers,
Wen Shih
To add on to Mr Wee,
I find that certain things are understood better, and you can see the solutions clearer, when you write it down or draw it out.
i.e. Mechanics in Physics
Maybe you don't experience it now, but at higher levels, you will definitely feel it.
hmm.... for my revision i do tys or topical books ma. so there isnt really any 'time constrints' for the duration of the paper.
for me i would phrase my entire answer out, as i had said earlier, so for me there isnt really a 'generalised idea' ba ?
about the mind not being clear and insufficient understanding, not really having a probelm with it now cause i consider myself to actually know how to do the questions already ?just double checking my knowledge.
because i also refer to the ans. in the tys hence i can get 1st-hand feedback on my answer and that i would also look out for how the answer is phrased.
ya. ~.~
yihao, since you are confident, I would suggest this
Do 1 full set of paper with time constraint, and then mark the papers yourself. If you can score, that would be sufficient in my opinion. Then perhaps repeat this one more time before your final exams.
In between, you could probably do what you just said :)
ok i just did the nanyang girls 05 prelim chem.
a2.
my final exam tomorrow !
hayha ! :D
