I am a student sitting for my O lvls this year.
I find myself needing help in completing my Social Studies paper ( never completed it before, always short of 1 question -.- )
We are only given 1hr 30minutes to complete the SS paper but I always find that the time is too short. I mean - we have 2 essays to write on and 1 question on SBQ can take up 1 whole page. All in all, at least 10~15 minutes is needed to read, infer and understand the question. Then we have to pick up the important points and write them down.
I seek advise on how to spend my time wisely when doing the SS paper. I could rush on the essay part but my handwriting will look like crap.
Please and thank you.
You're not the only one brother. However, I believe there should be some leeway for the handwriting part due to the time constraints.
TS. do you do history? cause if you do history, it gives you good practice for SEQ and SBQ questions, and also keeping to the time limit.
what id suggest is that you time yourself for each question, and practice such that you'll make in within the stipulated set aside time to complete it. Do that for all the sections and im sure it'll work out fine.
and also, work out and prepare your answers before you sit for the exam.
if u good with both hands use 2 hands write 2 essay at the same time. my fren did that. LOL
anyway.
standard is 50 for sbq . 40 for seq.
try doing the SEQ first instead
For me.....just remember all the facts, go into the exam, choose the SEQ topic you most familar with,
1. Screen through question for GF/OF/Links (1 minutes) Question A
2. Intro (2mins)
3. GF1(5mins)
4.OF (10 mins- try to choose those OF that are short)
5. COnclusion (2 mins)
6. Screen through question for GF/OF/Links (1 minutes) Question B
7. Intro (2mins)
8. GF1(5mins)
9.OF (10 mins- try to choose those OF that are short)
10. COnclusion (2 mins)
11. Read sources (10mins +Understanding of issue)
12. Question 1 (Normally inferences type) (10 mins max)
13. Q2-4 for sbq, normally cross ref, usefullness, etc.....25 mins
14,. check (5mins) Funish seq conclusion
It may be rush with SS, but more practise with good knowledge of the content matter really help
