Anyone have any clue on what might be the topic that's gonna come out for this year SS?
BTW, what were the topics for this year's 'N' Level and is there a possibility of the same topic appearing in both the O and N level ?
things that did not come out last year.
one word of advice. Study 3 themes, will not die
To add on to what yiha093 said,
Let's not forget that the three of us are students of the SECOND BATCH to take the new syllabus (I assume).
So they might either let us off really easy (like our lucky born-in-1992 predecessors had it), or simply kill us brutally.
I am convinced that Venice is to come out, but it has always been/will always be one of the hardest question-types to answer, both in terms of content (with having an unusual number of factors; more than three) as well as the phrasing of the question (which will throw all of us off balance).

Clever guesses, though I am more inclined to think that globalisation would come out in place of Terrorism and Conflict Between Nations.
I am curious though, as to how you managed to come up with such a prediction, not forgetting this is a rather new syllabus we're talking about.
As in, I would like to see the logic and train of thought behind the guesses you made, i.e. Venice was an old hot topic, so it is likely to come out again etc.
Also, are you a tutor or a teacher?

Agreed ... everyone knew Venice would come out for prelim. Everyone thought it would be easy.
Everyone was wrong. Lol.

For me, these are some probable stunner questions....
For this 2192/01 syllabus, this is 2nd examination year, so either it will be damm hard or damm easy again as last year is relatively easy.
since 2008 come out governance, conflict and iraq, i guessed it will cover healthcare (emphasized by Nat Day speech by PM Lee) mixed with population, D&D maybe or globalization (but note N level come out liao means lesser chance O will come out), so venice is more suitable.
i am just a student who is taking ss this very year

I find that hard to believe ..
The posts you make are more sensible and mature than most of the other forum-ers around here, most of whom are our seniors.
Sorry to ask, but how old are you exactly?
I love vernice man
I study vernice but never come out.
If u give me a choice, I would choose the vernice. Very interesting topic.
Btw im the old syllabus and i already clear my O levels.
i'm not studying for ss.
study liao, fail
don't study also fail, get around the same marks
might as well use common sense and shit and crap it through

really you should ask your teacher about the link skills. For example, for globalization, if they ask you this
How far do you think education can solve the environmental impact? DYA. EYA. [12]
( btw, this is an adapted qns from N level 2009 question in globalization)
This is a weak link
Globalization causes environmental impact. By education and promoting the 3 R (Recycling, Reuse, Reduce), less plastics will be use
WHY is this a weak link?
For SBQ, i not that sure, but just note these
NEVER false-match, this is just matching by either words in source or the face value
X-ref is required by these questions
In addition, when doing X-ref, do this
A and B differs in (issue). A says "Quote", B says "quote", therefore A seem to suggest (what) and source B seem to suggest (what)
Sorry, i cannot leak out more as i am taking ss this year and my ss teacher will kill me..but these should be adequate

i banking on both a and b got 3 factors write. tat 1 = ownage.
I heard Healthcare and Globalization came out for this year's N levels. Do you think there's a possibility that It'll come out again for the O Levels??

maybe
Globalization and Venice are the two most DISGUSTING chapters.

Agreed.
i think Bonding Singapore, Transnational Terrorism and Venice are the three chapters which are most likely to come out in this year's O-level SS paper, followed by Globalisation and Healthcare since they came out in this year's N-level SS paper. thats my guess though. :)
But it's risky to study for Venice, because this chapter is very unpopular, only come out twice or so in the past 7 years. i'm studying for T.T, Bonding Singpore and G. and source-based questions will most likely by conflict-based or about terrorism. :)
