I'm a poly student under the aerospace technology course. My GPA is so-so and I scared I'm not able to go to uni. So what is the gpa needed for me to go to uni? Any seniors from AT?? What are the more difficult modules for you all throughout the whole three years?
Thx in advance!!

Hi,
By uni, I assume you are talking about local unis. Please correct me if I am wrong. Btw, do you mind telling me what course you are interested in entering?
Here are some of the things which I found on aerospace engineering in uni, it seems like a very tough course to enter.
Thx TrueHeart!
I'm trying to enter wadeva aerospace course there is in NTU or NUS, but I dunno if there is.. If I want to be a pilot, what course should I go in uni? Or should I join the Youth Flying Club?
It depends from year-to-year basis.
The lowest I ever heard of is GPA of 3.4 to get to Local Unis.
To play on a safe side, I would say it is a GPA of 3.6.

No problem, it is my pleasure.
If you want to be a pilot, you may want to consider signing on with RSAF, as aerospace engineering is not about piloting planes. It is more about the construction of planes and other aircrafts instead.
Thx for all ur advices!! =)
I heard that the aerospace engineering in NTU isn't available for application from poly students. Is that true?

sorry, too late to know all these, those info should be at ur fingertips when u decided to join poly / jc.
Yihao, i find that you are too much, from that comment that you have made.
Seriously, GPA scores/modules and entry requirements change.
The threadstarter is just getting advice (hopefully from someone who got into the degree course, just recently) , is there anything wrong?
so tell me, imagine yourself in that situation, and it's 3 years ago when you read up on your course, can you be so certain that you do remember what you had read 3 years ago? or could you, be unsure and have the urge to ask?
All i can tell you is that if you want to enter local university, your so called GPA must be quite high. To confirm entry, diploma with merit is the best.
If you are serious about entering local university, you must at least get A for most of the modules. An average of B would get you no where. Out of the 20+ modules you go thru in your poly, at least 90% must be A and distinctions.
I was from poly and i got to local university, and I must say diploma with merit, once you got it, its almost like you will feel confident that local university will definitely accept you, no need even to feel rejected.

I apologise.
no offence to TS , or kenn3th.
u can ignore what i said.
Thx for all the infos you all had given me!
Wad is diploma with merit? My school has a diploma plus programme, does it help me in getting to a local uni?
Haha, its ok yiha093. What you said makes great sense too.
For aerospace engineering in NTU, i heard poly students require a dip with merit before they are considered. To get a dip with merit, you need to be the top 5% of your cohort.
NUS i am unsure but it should be similar
Thx guys!

Hi Pretzss,
That is true only in the past, as in the case with medicine and dentistry. The reason why many people comment that there isn't much of a change though, is because it is still incredibly hard for poly students to enter these courses, as compared to those holding an "A"-lvl cert.
3.7 =) my mother is a lecturer in singapore poly
