  anybody knows does the school have the ability to ban its students from taking the GCE A levels examintions?

  Yes, the school principal has the authority to (instruct teachers to do so), and the MOE will (in most cases) back the principal's decision.

  There's no list for this. The discretionary powers lie with the principal. But "staying home to study for the last 1 month and skip school lessons" is pretty common, so unless your teachers, HODs, or principal have other reasons (strong reasons, like disciplinary problems) to ban you, otherwise it shouldn't be an issue, don't worry. Of course, you could always contact your teacher (eg. via email) to explain yourself and gauge by his/her response whether you have anything to worry about or not.

  Our home tutor insist on students going back to school without fail unless there is valid reason like MC. But we heard from other teachers that there is something called study leave in which the home tutor insisted that there is no such thing as study leave. Even if there is no such thing as study leave, there is not much time to waste by going to school for the sake of going, I need the time to study on my own. So I'm afraid that I will be banned from a levels for this reason.

  I don't know what to do. I'm just so disappointed at the arrangement the school have for us.
