Study Group outing for O Level Preparation (10/10/2009)

  I don't know whether you would consider this a last minute plan but in my opinion, i think it is. Anyway, I would like to propose that we, as O Level Candidates, work together and help each other acheive our dream courses in Polytechnic or even our desired Junior Colleges. One way of achieving this is by having a study group outing this saturday afternoon. We will be focusing on English and if possible, Elementary Mathematics (E Maths). The reason is that English and Maths are two VITAL SUBJECTs. If you do not pass either two, you could not obtain a poly course, let alone obtaining a spot in ITE. Also, these two subjects are the main worries of some of the weaker students in neighbourhood schools. Here are the details of the Study Group Outing.

   

  Date: 10-10-2009

  Time: 12 pm - 4 pm

  Place: National Library

  Things to Bring: Related E Maths and English Notes (Ten Year Series if possible)

   

  Please PM me for my contact number and e-mail. Feel free to express your doubts or comments about the outing.

   

  I hope that this outing would be a sucess and at the same time, make new friends.

  But Science is also important to go for poly too. However, some of the course, you need a D7 for English also can do.

  For me, I failed English (D7), passed Maths (B3) but failed Sceince (D7). So, I almost went NITEC. But thanks to my aggervate score (26) and DAE, I managed to scrap into Republic Poly, but the condition is: Must pass Science in order to get the cert.

  So, I am retaking my 'O' Level Science for this year =( Hope I can pass for it.

  Don't end like me, work hard for it. Good luck everyone =)

  so minimum to go poly english must be atleast D7?

  I wasted my Saturday away sleeping in. Only managed to get two Emaths papers done.

  Hopefully TS got more work done in NL.

  Basically, the outing sort of failed. I'm honest about this.

  
  2 reasons why it failed:

  1. Last minute organise.

  2. No one called me. I apologise for those who waited for me. I was delayed by 1 hr. Also, i left my number on the morning of the outing because i was facing an emotional breakdown. Again, i apologise.

   

  I think it's best if we organise this on Friday since most O Level students should have graduated from their respective Secondary Schools. Just PM me or call me for details. Let's hope we don't screw this outing up as what had happened previously.

  I had last minute commitments. I went to NL first and then went to a Mosque at Cairnhill Place and studied there while waiting for prayers.

  Yes. D7 for C and D classified courses (Design and Science) A C6 is required for the B classified courses (Buissness). For some courses like Mass Comm, you need a B3 for EL. You should know why they want B3 for Mass Comm. You wouldn't want to have a Mass Comm graduate speaking Singlish on a radio show or comercial all the time, would you? Remember, each entry requirement is there for a purpose.

  tintin, one word of advice

  try to organize outings 3 weeks in advance and get all paxs HP no, that will be better
