Hi everyone. I have a question with regards to animal charcoal and its use in laboratory titration. I recalled reading in some books that animal charcoal can remove dyes and pigments in liquids, so I was wondering if I can add animal charcoal to the liquid that I had titrated and boil it after putting some animal charcoal to remove the indicator present in the liquid. The indicator is methyl orange or universal indicator but I wonder if animal charcoal can remove the methyl orange or universal indicator. If the indicator in the liquid for titration cannot be removed by animal charcoal, what can we use to remove it? Thank you very much for helping. ^^
my teacher got teach say burn with charcoal can remove indicator. o,o
perhaps cause syllabus eh ?
Ooh I see. So I should just write: "Repeat the titration process without the indicator to obtain the salt..." Hmm... perhaps I have read wrongly or something. >.< Thanks a lot. ^^
