Would like to get him a tutor and like to have some advices…Is it necessary or better to get a School teacher or a full time tutor….I would like to have his foundation done up strong to prepare for his O level…so I should think a tutor who has many years of O level teaching is a plus point…cause he will know the ‘hot questions’ for the O level..Thank you for your feedback and any recomemdation of tutors?
Personally i find school teachers too expensive since they cost almost 50%-100% more than an undergrad tutor generally.
I would say rather than only depending on the tutor, alot also depends on how much the student is willing to cooperate and work with the tutor, a good tutor with a student who is not willing to put in effort won't be able to do much while an average tutor with a earnest student could actually achieve alot more.
I don't really feel science has any 'hot' questions, some topics are obviously more important and tested more but such can easily be seen from the TYS. Its more important to understand all the concepts than to spot questions and just hope they come out.
If you stay in the east, can get ur son to join ultimaonline's tuition group.

Not really, undergrad giving tuition generally charge between 25-30 for upper sec if not more. I'm already 1 of the cheapest among all my uni peers already. Go check up on any tuition agency and you see how much is the rough charge for private tuition. Its not as cheap as you think.
In the recent recession, everyone job had pay cut except tuition job which we continue to demand the same pay or even increasing pay as time goes by when experience is factor in.

$200/ 4 x 2h is the market rates for full-time/ experiences tutor. For school-teacher, they may charge even higher than this rate.
My $100/ 4 x 2h rate is charge at a great discount for O level students to encourage group tuition (with their friends).
please dun not pile tuition and more tuition upon ur children now.
perhaps u might want to consider tution if his results isnt that good. by that i mean best after sec 3 MYE because it would be a rough 'overall' grading.
i know im not answering ur question.
