And now I got my overall year results and is wondering if I need to take what subjects so that I can take psychology in the future.
By the way, my school requires me to get 65% for science and maths to be able to take pure science and judging by my current results, I dont think i can get into the pure sciences class.
Art - B4

D&T - C6
English - B4

if can't go in pure sciences, go to the combined science class with A maths and E maths. Beneficial for your future. (:

Psychology like business is a course that can be taken by anyone regardless of what they studied so you don't have to worry. Just do whatever subjects you are good at so you can qualify for the psychology course.
Anyway good improvement, continue to work hard. Keep it up
lol. my school only offers double pure sciences and triple pure =/ and its compulsory to take A maths for my school students. judging by ur current results, i think you should go for combined Chem+Physics and A math + E math and maybe take geog as ur humanities. Ur current GPA is VERY low in case u didnt know... like idk 2.35 or smth =/ just take whatever you feel is good
EH DO NOT TAKE GEOG, TAKE HISTORY. ALL MY WHOLE LEVEL SUFFER BECAUSE OF GEOG
maths gotta be good for psyc

The only maths psychology requires is only statistics which is not a major component in O's maths syllabus
For Ngee Ang Poly, to have the best chance of going for psychology is to get as high marks as possible for English. For the rest of the subjects, getting B3 or higher has a higher chance of you getting it.
Sources are from a handout that Ngee ANg poly students give me when my school visited them .
take combined phy/chem and double maths.
for humanities, does your sch offer pure? take pure geog + hist elect if your school offers.
anw during my sec sch days people who get 50+% avg still can get into triple science. lol.
for me.
take cl, el, geog elect, combined science (phy, chem), em, am

Hi Skillzkills,
Do have a look at this.
http://www.np.edu.sg/ADMISSIONS/TIPS/Pages/2009JAECOP.aspx
The cut-off point for psychology is 10 points.
As an additional side note, these are the cut off points for 2008 for psychology in NTU and NUS.
http://admissions.nus.edu.sg/sprogramme-igp.html
http://www3.ntu.edu.sg/oad2/pdfs/COP.pdf
In NUS, psychology is a major under Arts & Social Sciences, with the 10th percentile at BBC/C and GPA 3.39, and the 90th percentile at AAA/A and GPA 3.82.
In NTU, the 10th percentile is at BBB/B and GPA 3.49, and the 90th percentile at AAA/A and GPA 3.84.
Cheers

Do note that for NUS FASS, the posted results are just for entry into FASS and not into psychology. There are people who go into FASS hoping to do psychology or some other course but later end up not being able to and stuck doing something they dislike.
