Hi all,
I plan to do CIMA home study. I have just registered with CIMA but donot know where to start.
Why CIMA? coz i screwed up my life and this is a way of redemption. I have always scored straight A's. I even scored full marks for my A level and was awarded a medal for Biology by EDEXCEL.
I was offered scholarships to study in UK but when I was there, mixed with the wrong group of people. messed up my future. sad....
Haiz....why o why... alcohol can really screw up people's life....Really miss the good old days when I was still studying...haha
anyway, after a year of not doing anything, i've decided that i cannot continue down this path of destruction.
my dad suggest that I study CIMA. anyone done it before through home study?
Really need some advice and hopefully some inspiration. it would be nice if I can do it with someone else. group study and all.
Why CIMA not ACCA or ICAEW?
Do you have any accounting background?
that's the thing, i have always been a science student.
why cima and not acca? coz i did some reseach and found out that there's not much difference between them. they are both equally recognise but CIMA concentrates more towards management.
I am interested in the field of managing. and i went through CIMA's sylybus and i am interested in it.
any advice?
I was a science student too, it shouldn't be too difficult if you put effort into it.
OMG!!! that is soooo coool.
you are my only link to know more about this field. damn, it really is lonely coming from a science background. i have no one to ask advice from.
I really do not mind putting in the effort. i did it before and I am sure I can still do it.
what qualification are you doing? have you completed yours or are you still studying?
please do reply coz i'm kinda lost.
how long did it take you to study? do you know of anyone who has done CIMA?

Hi Chris,
As I mentioned in the other thread, perhaps you will like to try applying for NTU's Accountancy first before trying CIMA. Please do correct me if I am wrong, but in Singapore, employers tend to recognise a NTU Accountancy degree more than CIMA or ACCA cert.

That is what i read in some forums. but the thing is, i'm malaysian.so it would be really exspensive if i were to study in a uni there.
i wish i had just studied properly when i was offered the scolarship.
