I expect 21/25 for SBQ section, and 5/25 for SEQ question.
Did the bonding question, because out of all the three topics of which I studied none, bonding seemed like the one that you could bullshit your way through with general knowledge and common sense.
I await SBS N SMRT's sentiments on this.
Though I was not surprised Venice didn't appear as an SEQ question, I WAS surprised that Globalisation came out in place of Healthcare/Population. Globalisation came out for 2008 and 2009 N' Levels, and now it has come out for 2009 O' Levels.
On the bright side, the ones taking their O' Levels next year know that Venice is 99.9% coming out.
Here i comment
The paper in overall was acceptable, manageable
For SEQ: After i flipped to the paper, see no venice, i took aback for a while, stunned for a moment. After i scrutinized the paper, found bonding question acceptable. However, Q2b is tricky, "social cohesion" is something you need to link back to.
For SBQ, i am not surprised that this kind of qns came out, predicted that it will be new.
Q1.a. Inferences - Should be manageable
1b. Similarity and Differences
1c. Usefulness - First state what the source is saying + 3 CR(s) (Optional) + Purpose (YES its useful)
1d. No CR needed, for the support, D support partially without deliberate, E wholesale support
Overall'
SEQ: 17/25
SBQ: 15/25
Total: 32/50

Last question isn't as simple as that.
Source E only hints and partially agrees, Source F both agrees and disagrees, and when both sources do not agree on agreeing or disagreeing, CR or CK is needed.
Too lazy to post it out, but I'm really sure.
Source F is by an Arab, and by right should be supporting the Americans. Yet Source F was the only one that mentioned that perhaps it was simply that Saddam was a "something power mad dictator", as well as suggesting that the USA could be at fault as well.
Doesn't matter. It's over. And a new type of question plus fail SEQ spotting means the bell curve is gonna be really, really weird.
And we wonder why combined humanities has such a high distinction rate and yet such a high fail rate.

my school nv focus Venice. Focus Globalisation
Heh. My school never got us to touch venice. The only thing given was a piece of paper to describe what happened in venice. The people in my school, even thought thinking that venice would come out, never bothered to learn it. I remember my friend joking about how "The examiners prolly know we think venice will come out, so they won't test it. At the end of the SEQ, will have asterisk saying: No venice. HAH." just before the exams.

Haha yeah. I think 30% seems logical.
I see the large number of facebook status updates all raging on Venice's absence from the paper.
Time to chiong for history elective.

LOL!
You should tell her "If i get F9 for that subject, it's your fault. I rather get "Absent" than F9"
Then the teacher confirm let you off 1.
got f9! haha had chat with the invigilators haha they very nice tell me do i tell them i dunno how to do then talk abit haha!
My take:
It was quite managable. I believe i could strike a good score because i managed to attempt all 4 SBCS questions (with purpose except for 1d) and attempted the Globalisation question. I just write my essays as if i was presenting a documentary on TV. You may find it weird why my writing style is different. I can tell you that you might find that my favourite show is a documentary/factual programme.
Anyway, most of my classmates could not believe that Venice didn't come out. I was taken aback but as i mentioned earlier, i found the Globalisation question easiest to do. I did consider the transnational terrorism but rejected it because i have inadequate knowledge to answer part a).
Good luck for the History component and the Design And Technology Papers tomorrow (or rather today).

Getting F9 means it doesn't turn up on your certificate at all.
Might as well get F9 instead of Absent.
