It's basically a form of propaganda brainwashing.
Selling propaganda.
Yes, you are right.
But in terms of which is easier to score for the O' Levels, obviously the answer would be History.
And no, don't argue with me on that. I've taken both pure history and pure geography at secondary 3 level before, and scored A1 for both before opting out for pure literature.

You must have some nice memories.
Personally i feel that Geography is much easier.
During the beginning of sec 3 when SEQ was not around.
My Elect History/SS was able to get A1 easily.
And my Pure Geog was like C6...
During Mid Year - End of Year for Sec 3,
My SS/History became D7 and E8
My Pure geog became F9
Mid Year for Sec 4 = SS/History F9, Geog C6
Prelim for Sec 4, SS/History = E8/F9, Pure Geog = B3/B4
Inititally i don't believe Geography was easier to score. Until i really started reading through the textbook. After reading through it thrice, i began to find that it's quite simple. Especially for Phyiscal Geog, when they talk about features, i can easily imagine it and think of how it's formed and things like that. When it comes to Human Geog, it's more of common sense already. Mostly just read through it once and you'll find that it's common sense.
But for History... There are skills required for you to answer those question. 1 wrong skill and you're GG-ified. As for SEQ, prepare to memorize a few themes like crazy just to score well.
Conclusion:
If you're really able to memorize well, and pay full attention in class, go for SS/History.
If you're those type who can imagine very well, read through textbook a few times and have a very good common sense. Go for SS/Geography.
Lol, actually both doesn't matter. It's just your interest. If you're more interested in Geography, take SS/Geography. If you like History, go for SS/History.
Passion = Good Marks.
No passion = prepare to give up on that subject.
With passion, you'll definitely continue to study and revise for that subject, allowing you to achieve good grades. Without it, you'll feel bored everytime you think about that subject, and you'll never start revising for it.
I guess I will be taking Geography, because I'm afraid of getting marks deducted from SBQ
Why is history easier to score in o level?

Hi Teenybean,
Some people consider History easier to score in, because it is a lot more about Memory Work as compared to other Humanities Subjects. Thus, those with good memories and who are willing to work hard will find that it is easier to score in History.
Cheers.
