Close to impossible even if you have an A for cca which gives -2 points

Heys! I'm in Game Entertainment Tech(GET). Hmm, what to expect... where do I start...
Well, I can tell you one thing though, if you love the gaming industry, like reading up on gaming news sites and basically have a passion for gaming in general, you'll LOVE this course. Because of what you learn, the opportunites presented to you during the course and finally, the like minded classmates and friends!
Oh, and you can expect to be learning programming, as it's quite important in the gaming industry, alongside Game Design. Programming languages include Java and C++(at least, that's what I've done so far.) Other than that, there's also 3d modelling and animation, although I have'nt done that yet so I can really talk too much about it.
In addition to stuff like programming and Game design, you also get chances to play early builds of games that are'nt out yet as game studios such as Ubisoft and EA concact TP for game testers from GET. I've been to one of these playtests too. Got a chance to playtest Assassins Creed 2 early last year about 6 months before the game was released. I can tell you, being inside a game studio is an awesome experience.
Oh, other opportunities also include working as a volunteer at the Games Convention Asia, that one's really eye opening experience. You get to see people from all over the industry and even though it's a conference(y'know, talks and stuff) it isn't boring cos it's about games!
Anyways, if there's anything else you would like to ask, feel free to reply! I'm always lurkin' around sgforum anyways.

Well, the best thing you can do is dropping by the open house and talking to the Psychology people, particularly the lecturers.
While I'm not a 100% sure, I think there are ways to get in even though you don't meet the cutoff point requirement. I remember talking to some people at the open house last year(before I entered TP) about Aviation Management and Services; a course of which I didn't meet the cutoff point requirements.
I didn't go through the whole appeal process though, I was already quite happy with what I got!
the playtest thing sounds cool....
I did the java course while i was in ITE....I did it in temasek poly...can be exempted from it when i finally enroll?
But i cannot remb where i put my cert from that course..

Something out of TP's range... What happen to the design competition and our free PM?

I tried applying for DPA but i got to know that they had sent the further intstructions it at my junk email.
Generally yes.
Psychology is a very popular field recently so its not easy to enter. DPA was a good chance to enter without O's results but since you miss it, JAE is you last good chance if you can meet the cutoff.
There are other polys offering psychology courses you can try and if your interest is really into psychology, you can still take psychology at uni regardless of your dip choice since the knowledge you learn from poly will not allow you to practice psychology anyway which generally requires a degree or mostly a post grad education before you can practice it.

Hi, i have a Higher Nitec in Mechanical Engineering and would like to know what courses are there in Temasek Poly that i should apply?
Originally posted by MrMbj:Meaning an unrelated course will allow me to take Psycho in Uni?Thats kindda weird. Only that I dont have a year's exception right? Meaning lets say if i were to take Culinary and Catering Management I can still take Pyscho at uni ah?
There is no 1 yr exemption from any local psychology degree. The most you can get might be 1 or 2 exemptions from the foundation psychology modules which is rare and generally recommended to be taken as its where you can score over those who might not have done pscyhology before.
Pscyhology belongs to the list of arts and social science degrees which all have no specific diploma requirements unlike the science and engineering fields because prior knowledge is required while a uni psychology course is 1 that really starts from the minimum foundation and thus there isn't any pre-requisite to talk about.

Doesn't ITE informed you all of the diplomas you all can apply for? Such information should be available either from the ITEs or polys websites without posting on forum to ask.

Hey Hello Kitty ... if you like western food then you need to try the western food stall at the Mensa canteen. it is very popular amongst the staff and students and was also featured by Channel U in one of their variety shows. The Malay food stall at TP's Design canteen is also very popular.
