studies vs army

born august 1988, 21 yrs old
was in nyp banking finance from april 06 to april 09 (3 yrs)
dropped out after failing my repeated modules (one accounting module took three sem still fail)
think went to apply withdrawal, my status now is-> asked to leave by nyp though
enlisted into army sep 09, three months and counting alrdy
regreted my decision to drop out poly, maybe appeal for fourth year, even if i fail repeated modules and one module thrice?
my finance course coordinator winston ho said i can go back nyp after my army
do i take his words? hes on leave, tmr gotta ask him or nyp-sbm prepare a letter which state i can go back nyp, what is the scenerio like?
options and discussions for me to further my studies after army?
i ask nyp if i can disrupt army, go back nyp, they say, not possible, wait till after army, i am not sure?
any options and opinions for me? in case i dont get to go back nyp after army? private dip? local dip? private schools? private uni? overseas degree? overseas online degree?

You are past 20 so you can no longer disrupt NS for any education.
A local dip is still the best choice compared to any other private dip for local work as well as if you intend to persue further studies be it local or overseas. Without a dip, taking a private degree requires bridging courses generally and private degrees are generally not very well recognised so they are quite a last option.
Each poly have their own rules on how many times you can retake a certain module etc before you are terminated from the instituition so i am unsure about NYP nor your chances of returning.

Hi Augustine,
You may wish to consider taking up another diploma course instead after you have ORDed from one of the local polytechnics. I hope you will not mind me saying so, but perhaps the current diploma course which you are doing is not really suitable for you.

really those started from NITEC even f they got problem at dipl level they still got NITEC. you only got o or n level to fall back on. really study sometimes is only going through motion, memory and apply on exams only. really even if you get the acc dip work how? you interested in acc? might as well sign on army take their diplomas. you say time inclusive BMT, get to study, have an income. well that's if you are really lost. after the bond thing you are still yopung to consider if you go to private sector or stay on in army. but if you stay on in army plan your courses, experience, exposure. in times like these i thing the gahmen civil servasnt route safer instead of struggling in the midst of pigs filled private sector

the highest education level you can study up to before enlistment in Singapore is Max a Dip/JC (not inclusive of overseas students)
just go to ns portal log in with your particulars and apply online for deferment, ask them what documents they need for verification.
meanwhile, find a tutor to help you with the module la, since you alone can't pass, why waste more time and money and not by finding a tutor or your ex-classmates?
i'm sure they now in the army sure broke one, ask them out teach you, pay them some extra allowance (army people are broke to begin with).

srious they broke? eat cookhouse OT is fireld exercise the most spend at canteen still broke? no need buy clothing all wear supported by emart credits.

which would you think they would prefer?
you can't choose the food in cookhouse, but you sure can choose the buy you buy from the other three choices if you have access to all the mess la.. (provided your unit has them all)
it's hard to find people who come out from army being rich in terms of savings (this only happens to those super emo people) which is the super minoirty.
imagine nearly 24/7 five days a week trapped in the four walls..what would you do when you get out??

in the past yes. now the cookhouse food very good taken care off by private catering people. cost of one soldier per meal is around 5~7 dollars that was my time now not very sure. at times good good fruits and ice cream. well at least taht was my unit (not commando) other units should be the same no bias. army rations in the field also improving. army jobs not all 4 walls. depend on vocation clerk and logistics maybe station in camp. comabt all out in the field. technician specialist service machines and weapons etc in camp. regulars can still book out everyday 8-5 unless got exercise deployed in the field or standby in camp. drivers move all around the island camps so yeh its not cclaustrophobic at all. unless you do wrong things serve in dark room
