hi all , i have a question. =D
if i want to be a teacher in future, what degree would be good to take should i 1 day decide teaching is not for me and want to work elsewhere ?
current plan is to teach at a secondary sch/JC .
i duno what info im supposed to give. lol X.X
can sum1 tell me more about the contract teaching too ? if u know =)
========================
i have a interest in phy, or chem , and is actually interested in taking deg related to this.
1 qn , H1 maths VS H2 maths. are the choice of maths syllabus significant in the phy/ chem courses i choose ? eg. having H1 maths but taking on an eng deg. ( isit possible / advisable ?)
What degree you should study depends more on what interests you, rather than worrying about what degree is more marketable should you quit teaching. Coz if you don't have an interest in the subject, you shouldn't teach it. In fact, if you don't have an interest in the subject, you would be struggling with your undergraduate course. So choose based on your personal interest, not based on 'what if I quit teaching'.

hi . i have eee, and chem eng deg in my mind to do . but my cuz just told me that if i were to quit teaching and have a 'technical '' degree, i would be better off with a arts or humans deg, eg, econs.

An arts or humanity degree, eg. econs, psychology, etc, is less useful/marketable/valuable than a science degree, at the bachelor's level. They are only equally useful/marketable/valuable at higher levels, eg. Masters, PhDs, etc.
Taking chemical engineering might allow you more options for teaching, eg. chemistry, physics, mathematics. You'll need to specialize on your teaching subject by going for a post-graduate-diploma-in-education (PGDE) 1 year course in NIE after your degree in NUS/NTU/SMU.
whatever degree would do but arts degree does command lower package as opposed to professional degrees like engineering, accountancy & etc...it probably also determines the level you teach too...these days to stand out you best get a masters after your nie stint...

Hi,
I would advise one to take H2 maths if one is planning to study science-related courses. Thanks.
Cheers,

Definitely for Physics and Bio
Physics no need to say. H2 maths would be excellent to have. Many many calculations in advanced physics would make you blur, i.e. partial differentiation, linear algebra, eigenvectors, etc....So a strong background in maths would be advised...
Bio: Statistics is important, i.e. Chi Square distribution... I think...
