What do you think about teenagers being too concerned about their body weight, and neglecting the consequences??
do your own homework.
Sigh.... here we go again.
Here's how it goes, pointdexter: you show us some of YOUR points for YOUR assignment, then you ask others to critique your points and to offer suggestions for improvement....
Lazybum. Tsk....
I'm thinking that I might as well just create a template for whacking lazybums on this forum, since there have been so many threads created by such morons with the exact same motive - asking forummites to do their homework for them without putting in a decent effort first.
how much do you want to pay for doing homework for you?
wow. the only issue I'd have with this is having too much info to deal with and the teacher not letting me write more.
another lazy sod. tsk tsk
TS, do you also expect us to sit for the exams for you?
media.
I read up on articles saying that sometimes its because of media influences resulting teenagers to be more concerned in their body. Teenagers exposed to images of models in magazines, newspapers which send them a message that perfect body = skinny.

yes, that is right. Also peer group pressure also matters
I did read up on my topic which I asked, just that I forgot to mention how I feel and I post already -_-

just also look around you if there are people like that. This way will help you to gather more points, valid points.
ohh ya.peer group pressure. Sometimes my friends will tease another friend saying about her/his body. Then my friend being teased will feel worry about his/her body. It might make my friend actually want to lose weight.
I think it is important to let teenagers or perhaps everyone to know how to keep fit in their body and correct their thinking. Not just keep focusing on their looks and body image.
Due to maintaining good body, resulting teenagers having eating disorders. Not only refer to females, males are also getting more concern about this. Eating disorders are problems which teenagers actually neglect and thinking that it is not serious.
wow. u are doing well.
to fireice: thanks! hoping to get more views on how people think about teenagers in this matter. I can not only learn from reading up articles or news or research but can learn from how people see this body image matter in teenagers.
I think there is nothing wrong in being too concerned about your body weight. who dosen't want to look good? The problem is their interpretation of looking good and the method they use to achieve their desired weight.
These people usually are those who are already thin and want to be thinner and those who are obese. they use method such as skipping meals, forced vommiting and excessive exercise even though their body does not have sufficient energy. All these are doing more harm then good to their body.
Imo it is not that teenagers think that eating order is not serious, they are just not aware of it and the harm they are doing to their own body with their mind so focused on losing weight and "looking good"
Hmm..maybe it applies to some teenagers that they knew the existing problem just that they do not take it seriously. I agree that teenagers are not aware about this problem, perhaps most of the teenagers. I have friends who are like that, keep telling me they are fat. But actually they are not. If their mind continues in this way and keeps having the fear of being fat, it might result them being anorexia nervosa.
I think that sometimes the teenager began this behaviour is to try to fix other problems. They began self-starvation, binge eating, purging as they felt terribly out of control either in their personal life or outside environment example having family problems, stress from schoolwork, social problems like being teased about their appearance.
There are two types of eating disorders among teenagers nowadays.
One is anorexia nervosa, the other one is bulimia. They want to eat less and keep thin even though they are already very thin. But they are under nourished, so there will be a noticeable change in them. They will become skeletally thin, drift apart from friends, a change in their behaviour and much more... The person will change so much that even your best friend seems to be a stranger anymore...
Bulimia is also as harmful as anorexia nervosa. The teenagers eat and eat and eat, until they are about to explode. Then they eat laxatives and vomit everything out. This will have a harmful effect on their bodies. Cos I learnt in Biology lesson that when a person keep forcing themselves to vomit, their vomitting reflex will stop working and they can't vomit anymore. So, they may eat until they are bloated... then mati...
Eating Disorders are serious emotional and physical that can have life-threatening effects on female and males like what Han chiang had mentioned they may eat until they are bloated then mati. Sometimes the sufferers of eating disorders do not recognise that they are having the problem, refuse treatment and hide their abnormal behaviour from their loved ones and friends.
How do you found you are excessive in weight...?
May be by the tummy and fatigue for just 2 mins work..
right...????
exercises will help you just 20% rest about how you maintain your diet..
Its true..
Simon.
Ya, sometimes you yourself will feel it that you are excessive in weight. or can check BMI. As long as you keep yourself fit and healthy, that is the most important. i think.
Anyone got any reports of black ops personnel having lost 50 kg during 1 week of operations?
to Herzog_Zwei: no I don't have any report of what you had asked.
