I totally screw up. But i can't afford to retake A levels. How? Is this grade possible to enter the local uni? NUS, NTU OR SMU. Btw, my GP is E and MT is A.
chances are quite low TBH.but can appeal.=)
SIM??
ere are the NUS, NTU, SMU Indicative Grade Profiles.

Unless you appeal after rejection or you take the special admission route, I can assure you that you have a 0% chance of entering with a direct application.
what is your combi? if it's science then maybe civil engin or some other engine. comfirm cannot get into NUS FASS BIZ SOC. u can try design too.. then portfolio is impt.
don't fret, i think you can make nursing in nus
My subject combi is
H2 Maths: C
H2 Physics: C
H2 Geo: E.
H1 Econs: B
H1 PW: B
H1 MT: A
HI GP: E

BBB/C, E for GP and PW = 70 points ie lowest 10 percentile for Arts and Social Sciences Faculty
CCE/A, E for GP and B for PW = 63.75 points ie low chances, probably on borderline cases, don't lose hope yet.
For JC students aiming for the 3 local universities, they must aim for at least 70 points out of the total of 90 points.

interview must be zai. and btw no chem or bio background = unlikely to enrol.
from your combi, i think you would be more interested in science than arts, and u dislike writing.
so maybe go for common engin course in NTU? since u have both physics and maths, i think doing engine would be the most suitable path to head.
But I am a PCME student and i feel that engine is so boring. i rather do maths. haha. no offence.
But i heard that if you are taking common engine and your GPA in year 1 is not up to expectation, they might just dump you in any engineering courses that might not be what you wanted. Is that true?

Hi Keyvirus,
That is true. Some engineering courses will no doubt be more popular than the others, and priority will be given to the students with better CAP/CGPA.
As a side note, the entry requirement for the Nursing degree course have went up a lot - It was DDD/D last year for the 10th percentile, and it is CCC/B now for the 10th percentile.
Nevertheless, I wish you all the best in your application.
Cheers.
bro. if i were you,i would retake A'levels in your jc.
with my grades,i cant retake. i got BCC/B
i'm praying to get into FASS in NUS to take up major in economics.
TBH,if i were given a chance to retake in my JC.i'm very certain that i can get AAB/A. played too much in my jc life.only started studying 1 mth before the 1st paper. =/
retaking as private will be very hard for me.that's because im going into NS. no much time/motivation to study, plus its very easy to get distracted.so yep.=)
cheers bro!
oh yea.my advice is, to apply to all 3 uni. at the same time apply to SEAB for retaking of A'levels as well.
if you manage to get into any uni.that'll be good. you can then cancel your application with SEAB and your examination funds will be refunded.=)
