u must learn to like something to do well.
perhaps read things in chinese that u like, could be photography books, romance novels, hobbyists guides. give urself the interest and there u go!
all the best. are you in j1 or j2 now?
if in j1, i advice u to put in more effort in H1 CL since u would have time for other subjects later?
if j2, just try ur best. april is not too late
we all went thru this route, and we all survived stronger and better. abt myself, chinese was not my strongest subject, but exposure in a chi-medium high school made me stronger and better. only subject i studied in pri sch, but got A2 for HCL in the end
good luck!
lol, look at the other people, and look at yourself.

what did u study in the end?in jc?
There is always a choice of taking basic chinese (CLB) instead of H1CL. You will just need to obtain a pass in CLB, and as compared to an 'S' grade in H1CL, the difference is a lot. CLB is much easier with all the simpler words and idioms, and of course, simpler questions.
By taking CLB, you get extra time which can be put into better use (not intending that chinese is useless/inferior/whatever, but it is sort of just a requirement to enter university). More time can be spent on PW (yes this will eat up your breaks, sleep time, weekends, holidays) and your other subjects (especially H2s).
I've got friends who are very very good in their content-based subjects, just weak in chinese. They are taking CLB now and did not regret that it may or may not make your A level cert look "ugly" (depends on your perspective).
regarding above post, from what i know unless u fail chinese at O level or special cases wif a C6 u cannot opt for basic chinese?
my chinese teacher in secondary told us, u get a B for chinese means u pass and score relevantely well in the eyes of whoever looking at ur cert.
u get a C means u pass ...u take basic chinese = u had chinese lessons. =.=
see the differences?
I think u should sit down once a week with ur teacher to go thr words n phrases u dont noe. Reading passages and getting ur teacher to correct n explain meanings to u should help. this one takes time, slowly add up...
u might wana focus on oral first, it is the first thing we will be sitting for if i m not wrong. Ask ur teacher to go thr with u the hot topics.
Jiayou.
