  How to I solve this qns, The function f(x) = x^3 + px^2 + qx + r has a min value of -2 at the point x=3 and a max value at x=-1. Find the values of p, q and r. Thanks!

  Hi,

    There are 3 unknowns p, q and r, so we need to form 3 equations using the information we are given, i.e.,

    1. f(3) = -2,

    2. f'(-1) = 0,

    3. f'(3) = 0.
