Hi Earthlings .
I hope there are people out there who can help me by solving this mathematics problem sum.
There were 7/9 as many men s women in a ballroom . After 18 men and 18 women left the ballroom , there were 5/9 as many men as women left .
How many women were there in the ballroom at first ?

Currently, we have:
Men l__l__l__l__l__l
Women l__l__l__l__l__l__l__l__l__l
In short, 5 units of men to 9 units of women.
Originally, the ratio of men to women is 7 to 9.
Hence, (5 units + 18) / (9 units + 18) = 7/9
Rearranging, we have:
45 units + 162 = 63 units + 126
18 units = 36
1 unit = 2
Original amount of women
= 9 units + 18
= 9(2) + 18
= 18 + 18
= 36 women
