Hi, I am retaking my O levels this year. I am taking English, Chinese, Amaths, Emaths, SS/History, POA, Sci (Phy/Chem). As I am not doing very well for Sci (Phy/Chem), I wonder if I should drop the subject then concentrate on the rest. Does it affect my rate of applying to a JC even if I choose the art stream in JC? Thanks in advance~

my advice is get to poly and give your chance to do well and get into university later if you can make.
not forgetting that you have to do well in A level so that you can make it to uni, and then you need to do well uni so that you can grad.
It is a fact that not all people grad from uni and not all people make it to uni, and not all people make it in their A level.
You will be struggling like mad. Why dont you took your time to find your niches and head towards a direction?

thanks for the reply~ but i just want to keep the option of JC available before i finally decide where i want to go. i don't wish to find myself unable to go into JC just because i did not take any science subject.
Normally arts students take H1 or H2 maths as the contrasting subject so it should be fine if you drop combined science, especially since you do A Maths you won't be stuck with the option of taking H1 maths as the contrasting subject. You will still be able to be eligible for the arts stream. However, I still think that you should keep you your combined science because it really narrows your choices for courses in poly (correct me if I am wrong) and you won't be eligible for science stream in JC if you do drop.
All the best!

thanks for the wishes! i am interested in accountancy or business related courses if i do eventually choose to go to poly. i believe those courses do not need any science subject. though i heard, they are very popular and in high demand.
actualli science subject offers u another job route....if it is listed as a job requirement...
but its still ok if u realli dun like science subjects.....
it is a well known fact that at least 7/10 gals would opt for accounting/ business/ mass comm...and u can just throw a stone in library at any gal books on the table.....sure to be KAPLAN/ ACCA texts or acounting related....
money seems to be an inherent talent in gals....the cosmos just irks them

Yes, if you are going to poly i think you might need combine science. Then again JC is good also. All the best.
