I dont have first classt, got a 2:1 instead.
I still feel a slight sense of regret till today...So wondering if I get a Masters, would it enhance my employability skills(especially in the public sector where a 1st is so much valued)
And note, if I ever do Masters, it would be not an MBA or what, it would be a Masters of Arts or in the field of international relations and the like. (not too expensive also, around 5-6k per year)
Thanks for your input.
I graduated with a 2nd lower so heres my opinion..
I feel that with a 2nd upper, you should do decently well in the public sector although you will naturally lose out to the 1st class or scholars who will waltz to the top assuming all things are equal (ability, luck, etc etc)
I know you will want to compare upwards but do bear in mind that there are many others who only have a 2nd lower and below who are much worse off than you...
If you are planning for a career in the public sector why not consider a masters in public policy from LKY school of public policy where the minimum criteria is a 2nd upper?
Hi pal,
Thanks for your reply.
My upper is barely scrap it through lor...NUS 2nd upper is 4.00, I got 4.08. Somemore, the other parts of my resume are not brilliant.
So I am thinking if getting a Masters can make my resume look better...so is it a piece of waste paper? The tuition fee may sound cheap but 5-6k + 1 year of studying without substantial income every month is not a plaything lor...
I am not interested in the contents of the LKY public policy course, so dont intend to pursue it...
Hi,
Do well in your job with a great attitude to learn and to become a wonderful team player. As for masters, do something you like. Thanks.
Cheers,
