Cite/referencing a site

  I went into a website and saw a sentence needed for my essay.

  Anyone knows is it allow to cite / referencing a website's particular sentence that is cited by the website itself using APA referencing style for my essay? Or do i need to cited from the author of that book?

  I used to have this smal book that taught how to do proper referencing in all styles which I bought from my uni, but I lent it to someone but he has not returned it yet.

  your referencing style is what style? APA, MLA, CMS, ASA or harvard?
