Hi, I am going to take the O levels in few days. After that I plan on going to JC, but I am unsure about the stream. Right now I am taking 3 pure sciences and A math. when I reach tertiary level, I want to do either robotics or political science, as I am equally interested in both. To do robotics, I must go into the science stream, where I would take Math, Chem, Phy and Econ. If I were to pursue poli sci, I should go into the arts stream right, where I would probably take Hist, Econ, English Lit and Math, even though I have only taken e lit up to sec 2 level.
I need advice on which career path, robotics or politics, I should choose, and which JC stream to apply for. Thanks!
Hi,
Focus on your O-level exams first. Take one step at a time. Good luck!
Cheers,
Wen Shih

Haha, that is what my mother told me too, when I asked her. But what do you think is the better choice though? Which would you pick if you were in my position?

I will pick neither.
Neither seem to allow you entry into a wide range of jobs.
Well, listen to what your mother say, focus on O lvl 1st.
aiya, pick PCME / BCME, is more useful, can go to political science anyway
agreed.
I'm a Advanced literature student, similarly considering going into the Humanities Programme (if i can make it) /Arts stream next year. My class is a mixed class, so we have History and Geography students in our class as well, after peering over some of their notes, all i can say is if you are planning to take up history, there is a whole lot of catching up that you'll have to do.
Have you even seen their textbooks? Not to mention their "supplementary" books of "fun facts".
But if you're passionate and determined go for it :D
and GOOD LUCK FOR O LEVELS! :D
If you don't mind me asking, which school are you from :P
Go for JC Physics!!!!!!!!!!! It's fun!!! (at least to me, it's fun)
Ultimaonline will tell u JC Chem is fun!
For JC Maths, you have to take it anyway, whether it is fun or not. But it's still fun I assure you :)
Apart from that, CONCENTRATE on your O levels first. You have plenty of time to think through after that.

PCME looks like the best choice then.

True, TRUE, true and true.
Truth is, having a JC H2 foundation in the Sciences (specifically Maths, Physics & Chemistry) opens more doors (than any other subject). For instance, unlike the Science courses in NUS, many courses in the Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences are open to anyone who makes the grade, regardless of their JC subject background. Meaning if you intend to take Economics, Psychology, etc in NUS, it may still be a better idea to study Sciences in the JC, so that the doors to NUS/NTU Science are still open to you, should you wish to change your mind.
EH.... BCME is also fun =)
