Fail english can go Uni?

  Hello, I want to ask a few things about university.

  I got a D7 for english o level and do not intend to re take the subject.

  I am now currently studing in poly ( AE, aerospace electronic ). This engineering course do not need good grades for english. ( minimum requirement for english is D7 )

  I want to ask if I am able to get in to a local university ( NUS, NTU ), with a D7 for english.

  Will I have a lower chance to get in to one of the university ( let say that i got good GPA and good grade for poly )?

  And will there be any disadvantage when I get in to these university?

  Hope someone can answer to my questions real soon.

  You will have to take an extra English module (Or more than one) in uni.

  u will be at a disadvantage when applying for jobs unless u score at least a pass. 

  For Uni, you may not be considered entry in view of great competition for a place. English is damn so important...many have lagged behind in opportunities becos of this most important single subject

  u'd better love that subject - by hook or by crook - retake it till u pass...remember its good for u in the future of work

  and whats more...with so many looking down on people who cant command good english....sg gals are especially the ones you will miss a lot...and the hordes of ang mohs they love so much

  one simple question: are u GOOD in ur applied maths and physics? the two basic foundations for a uni course on aero-space engineering. mind you, poly AE is worlds apart from uni course. besides ur english, think ur maths and science. u're not good in those two, dun bother. u will suffer. i gurrantee it.

  Yes you need to be good in English.  Please improve on it or it will be hard for you to enter uni.  Even if you enter uni with bad english grades, there is a good chance that you will not do well at all.

  NUS will ask you to re-take and pass your "O" level English Language before you apply for enrolment with NUS.

  no problem going to U if you fail English.....................as long as the U is in Bangladesh..........

  To ts:

   

  English language is important.

  You need to have a strong command of written english and understanding if you need to go to uni. or else you will suffer alot especially when you are doing project works and presentation.

  No short cut for this issue.

  Believe in yourself, you can make it.
