I'm a slow learner and I'm thinking of reading up in advance before my admission at Nanyang Technological University.
What books should I get?
Any books that involves statics, and mechanics, it will be a bore, but it might be the killer for most mechanical students. But since you're starting up, it'll be mainly statics. If you touched it in poly, its really kiddy stuff.
You might want to brush up on your maths.
A good mechanical engineer is also a good mathematician.
mechanics and maths lor.
The different courses you'll be taking has a recommended accompanying textbook, but basically:
Engineering Physics, Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, Fluid Mechanics, Mechanics of Materials and Engineering Mathematic.
Are you a guy or girl? From JC or poly?
can only say
Engineering esp mechanical need to be good in thermal/ fluid mechanics, maths, mechanics (static/ dynamic)
ar... as good as physics part of science
