Dear users,
I'm Currently In ITE and progressing consistently in both academics and CCA. I scored a GPA of 4.0 for exams during june and i'm hopeful instead of despondent over scoring 4.0 GPA for the next semester under 'December Exam Series'. I'm also very confident but not being presumptuous to others when i get a CGPA of 4.0 after sitting for all 3 exams which finals are in the month of december 2011. I'm currently taking a course on Aerospace Machining Technology and it's out of my curiosity to find out which polytechnics in singapore is among the top. Well, i was told by my peers that the top polytechnic show no relevance in spite of any course you are under. Is that true? well, with a CGPA of 4.0, i want to secure a top polytechnic as my choice in which i can apply for scholarships because of my outstanding achievement in ITE both in academics and CCA. Please provide the best knowledge you have about the top polytechnic in singapore. I appreciate it very much indeed.
perhaps its RP...as they are on the headlines most of the time...
...for the not so good reasons.
I didn't know there's a polytechnic ranking?
SP - engin, IT
NYP - biz, nursing
TP - design, IT
NP - no eye deer which course more famous
RP - errr......good in getting stomped?
There's only 5 Polytechnics in Singapore
-Singapore
-Ngee Ann
-Temesek
-Nanyang
-Republic
In decending order from Oldest to Youngest.
I will be diplomatic and not comment on which I think it's best. (Every year, there will be Inter Poly Bashing, NP will say that they are better than SP and SP like wise will take a snub at NP)
Rather than deciding the school, go to their individual websites and look at the courses and the modules you will learn and am interested in. I'm unsure if the course you are currently taking only allows you to go to certain courses, this you will have to check with the lecturers and helpers during Poly's open house.
Do note their locations and if it's feasible for you (aka travelling time) as school can start as early as 8am. Wouldn't really make sense if you leave at Pasir Ris and train all the way down to Dover (though I have friends who do that )

RP biomed
yeah, last time i crash poly open houses to collect the goodie bags.
If I were you, I'll choose the poly nearest my home, or the easiest to get to from home and back. You are going to spend a part of your life there, so you want it to be convenient. I'm not going to spend 1.5 hours travelling just to get to a school that other people think sounds better.
"I choose singapore poly because got "singapore"in front of it, which means its the best.

I do... Plus the additional busride from Dover to *ahem* poly.
But the good thing is NP has the free bus thingys to Wdlands and Tampines and some other places.
But they are always packed like -.- and I'm claustrophobic~
oh yah. NP is mass comm.

She is quite chio bu leh.
She is probably a mother by now but her children are likely to be aged of 12 or
less maybe the eldest child has just finished the PSLE and will go to Secondary
One next year in 2011.

Specifically, many of them are from Biz.
Your course Aerospace Machining Technology... The most suitable polytechnic that has similar course is Singapore Polytechnic. :)
