THE results of the 2010 Singapore-Cambridge General Certificate of Education Ordinary Level (GCE O-level) Examination will be released on Monday, Jan 10.
School candidates may collect their results from their schools at 2pm on the same day.
Private candidates will be informed of their results by post. They may also access their results through the Singapore Examinations and Assessment Board website at http://www.seab.gov.sg from 2pm on Jan 10.
Students can apply for Junior Colleges (JCs), Millennia Institute (MI), Polytechnics and the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) via the Joint Admissions Exercise (JAE) using their GCE O-level results. Students who wish to apply only to Polytechnics may also apply via the Joint-Polytechnic Special Admissions Exercise (JPSAE).
The JAE is conducted annually by the Ministry of Education (MOE) to allow those who had sat for the GCE O-level Examination to apply for admission to courses offered by the JCs, MI, Polytechnics and ITE. The JAE registration period is for five calendar days, starting from 3pm on Monday Jan 10 and ending at 4pm on Friday, Jan 14. Applicants are to submit their application online through the JAE Internet System (JAE-IS), accessible through the JAE website at http://www.moe.gov.sg/education/admissions/jae.
The JPSAE will be conducted together with the JAE from Jan 10 to Jan 14. A student can apply concurrently to both the JPSAE and JAE.
The JPSAE complements the existing JAE, by allowing polytechnics to consider applicants based on a broader measure of merits beyond performance in the GCE O levels. Details on the JPSAE can be found at http://www.polytechnic.edu.sg/jpsae and on the respective polytechnics' websites.
wah.. nowadays so fast.... january get results liao... my time mid feb den get
my time is one wk later than this. cos mine is last year lol
Mine is also last year , it was 11 Jan if I'm not wrong.
everyone tt got results today, pls use this thread to post ur, "bad results, how?" "jc or poly?", "i no want go ITE", "failed maths" woes
working towards an NUS/ NTU degree is still employers top choice for potential candidates....
it is as if "i pay money to get the best"....no doubt no one would claim that they r elitist...but this is the real fact.....the only way to console would-be ITE goers is the system.....if they fail to assure that they have great promising prospects in terms of $$$ and respect....then no point for schools to advertise so much how the system support that objective...
that is, concrete action, than forum talk
Eng C6 Chi C6 POA F9 Comb Hum F9 Comb Sci (C/P) - D7 Maths D7 .

I heard that it is hard to get into HCJC nowadays even with 3 points. Is that true?

3 points is the cut off for sci stream in schools like RJC and HCI. for arts, you might get lucky and get in with 4 points.
most of the people who enter these IP schools, competing for the remaining 10% of places for non-ip students, are 2 pointers. 6 A1s with 4 bonus cut-off.
HCJC oredi got IP students from HCI and NYGH
so they oni left like... err... like 100 seats for the others to fight.
and the IP ppl oredi got a good headstart, even if u can get in, it's still gonna be a rough ride
IP has oredi filled 80-90% of the top 5 JCs
the O kids, even with good aggregate, can only consider the 6th to 10th now
Hi guys, I've just gotten my results and my L1R5 was 12 ( after bonus point deduction). I have an offer from MJC, allowing me to take Art stream in the school. But the criteria is that i have to take Sailing as my cca. As you all know sailing is quite a vigorous sport and there would be three sessions every week. So, i am pondering whether i should accept the offer or not. I am afraid i won't be able to juggle well between Academics and CCA. Furthermore, I was from a Neighbourhood school whereby there were'nt much stress, thus, I am afraid i would go bonkers when i enter the college where everyone studies like HELL! Should i opt for just an average JC( Jurong or Tampines) or should i accept the offer. Many thanks! Hopefully someone wise enough would enlighten me :D
Then is it possible to get in with a L1R5 which is 1 point below the COP of the JC?
Sadly no. Its kinda hard because many ppl are appealing :x

It is the environment in "branded" JC that make it so alluring. Image learning in an environment where all student have similar ideology of getting into Uni. That creates a very powerful momentum and driving force for any student.
the teachers, the studetns, the school culture make the diff.....
