What's the diff among h1, h2 and h3?
Please explain thank you.
H1 - Half
H2 - 3/4
H3 = Complete
Hi,
H1 subject is taken to be one unit (10 points for an 'A' grade). It is equivalent to half of H2 subject in breadth, but similar to H2 subject in difficulty.
H2 subject is taken to be two units (20 points for an 'A' grade). It is equivalent to previous A-level subjects.
H3 subject is taken to be one unit. It may be advanced A-level content, a research paper, or a university module. It is offered to academically-able students.
At A-level, a typical student takes General Paper (H1), Mother Tongue Language (H1), Project Work (H1), three H2 subjects, and one H1 contrasting subject. A contrasting subject is one that comes from another stream.
Schools offer different subject combinations to suit varying needs and interests.
Every school gives such a detailed briefing to incoming JC 1 students, so do not worry too much :)
Thanks.
Cheers,
Wen Shih
to add on, please refer to the university courses you are interested in, and check out their pre-requisite.
don't end up taking subjects only to find out that it does not meet the course requirements.
