  1) Given that a rectangle with sides (2x + 2)cm and (x + 8)cm have an area of 88cm^2, determine the value of x.

  2) Given that the area of a right-angled triangle is 120cm^2, determine the value of x. The height is 4x cm while the base is (3x + 3)cm.

  2X^2 + 18X +16 - 88 = 0

   

  Solve for roots of equation

   

  ( -18 +/- 30 ) / 4

   

  X = 3
