Hi, as we all know, the requirement for JC is L1R5 20, MI(L1R4 20) and Poly L1R2B2 26. Does that means that if i get A for my CCA, i can apply for JC with L1R5 of 22? Or the CCA points can only be only when you meet the requirement?
the sch will look at the raw score first
in case u are vying for the last spot or on waiting list, if u have 22 pts with A grade in CCA, u have an edge over someone else with 22 pts and B in CCA
So that means that for a student with A for their CCA grades, their requirement to enter JC will be 22 whereas a student with B~C for their CCA grades will have their Cut off point for JC as 21?
it does not work this way
let's say this JC the cut off point is 18, exclusive of bonus pts
it offers 1000 places for this year
900 students with 18 pts and below applied and got in. they do not need to use any CCA pts or other bonus pts
the school will then consider the 19-pointers
if u have 19 pts and A in CCA, u will be considered first
after all the 19-pointers (with or with bonus pts) took up the seats
there might be 10 left, which then the sch will consider those with raw score 20 pts
again, those with 20 pts score A for CCA will be considered first, compared to those 20 pts but with B in CCA, and so on... until the quota filled
it does not mean if u get 22 pts but A in CCA means u are eligible to fight with the raw 20-pointers
However i heard that when you get back your O level result slips, u will have a list of available courses for you to chose. So in order for JC course to appear in it, whats the L1R5 points you need if you got A in your CCA?
the form will show the indiv subj grades, L1R5, L1R4 and the various combi of aggregates + bonus pts
and whether u are eligible for 2 yr or 3 yr pre-U courses or poly/ITE
the criteria for acceptance into JC is max 20, excluding bonus pts
