Hii, I'm in J1 and i find it kind of hard to get even a pass. I try studying but still not enough. Are there any books for PCME student that can help? I already bought CS Toh books, and I don't go for tuition cos its very inconvenient for me.
Also, how did y'all study? Do you like keep a notebook, do assessment, guide books? Im a lazy shit but im trying to change my ways. I feel kind of disadvantaged cos everyone else at my jc like has extra help or sth. ok, a bit exxagerated, but im on my own, i dont even know what questions to ask my teachers.
see percentage, not the absolute score. Be assured that you are not the only one who fails exam, there are hordes of people who do so.
For PCME, I am a BCME student, so can only help for chem (do questions), maths (practice more), econs (make connections between topics)
For question to ask tutors, it is up to your onus to consult teachers to clear doubts.
actually when i think about it my question is kind of stupid. i'll just try to study smarter and stuff like that, if it works, see how, i just never like think about it enough, that's my gut feeling, dont really know how to say also
Pls do post here when you need help.
You study not to get an A, but to make sure you are at least the highest in score.
This mentality will come in useful.
so just buy resources and study hard / smart on your own is good enough? i want to max my score yes..

simply put, yes.
But if you really need additional help, you might still need to look for tuition. Do however try out on as much as possible first. Even if you decide to search for tuition help eventually, your personal hard work is still the most important deciding factor of your eventual success.
Half of studying involves the satisfaction of eureka moments.
The other half involves the headache-relieving banging of head against wall.
So studying on your own can be quite fulfilling as you can see.

I concur with this!!!!!
Those are the best moments!!!
Your words are better. I just tell my students they will level up (machiam like maplestory).
Since your grades are good enough to go to JC, I assume you are already capable of studying....dun let laziness overcome you....for me, I just do my tutorials, pay attention in lectures and study the books recc by teachers....sure can pass one....
Dont know how eagle teaches tuition, but mine doesnt involve notes.
I was aghast at having to follow one fellow's notes...which resembled just another JC set of notes.
I simply put aside and teach loosely according to his instructions instead.
Studying should be fun...and interactive. Not read notes and think "alamak...I am going to koon anytime".
But the sad irony is my own studying involves the said sin.
Since you are looking to pass only....just do what I've said above and you'll sure pass....if you wanna score well, you need extra efforts like doing tutorials from other JCs, ask for more tutorials from your tutors....read more textbooks for every subject etc.

I'm writing my own set of physics notes at the moment.
It may look like most JC notes though.... However, I'm taking my time because I'm including a ton of useful stuff that most notes do not contain, be it JC or books already on the market.
But I like to teach with lots of analogies that make classes fun :)

For me, I write my own original tutorial questions for my students. My questions are always more fun than the typical JC questions, and they're designed to bring out a lot more fun for everyone, ( sadistic-type) fun for me, and ( masochistic-type) fun for my students! Studying should be fun for everyone!
On a serious note : if studying isn't enjoyable, then something is seriously wrong with the education system.
I liked my PCME combo.
But compared with my 3 subber friends, I had the most ground to cover. But in the end I found the social sciences to be what I liked.

I have not got to that yet. I recycle questions, sometimes modifying them tougher, from prelim questions :)
Like what you said, sadistic-type fun and masochistic-type fun
