What is GPA Advantage for?

  Hi users, I need to find out what's the purpose of having a GPA Advantage of 0.2 when your final CGPA is 3.857. Does it push your GPA to 4.000? or it is there for display purpose only? Does polytechnics look at your CGPA or CGPA + 0.2 CCA GPA Advantage Point? or does it only prioritize CGPA? I need to ask you this question because i'm hoping to enter Singapore Polytechnic regardless of any course and thus, i'm dying to enter that dream choice of polytechnic despite of any course because my CGPA is 3.857 and i don't think they will accept NITEC applicants under whose CGPA is < 4.000 for Aeronautical Engineering. I'm currently under the Engineering line and base on your experiences, could you please give me the likely prospective of me entering Singapore Polytechnic with a CGPA of 3.857 with or without the incremental 0.2 GPA Advantage Point. Is there any course in SP under the engineering field of equivalence may accept me bearing in mind that my CGPA is 3.857 and i've received awards and having a testimony that is well fought for?   Hi there, you should check up Singapore Polytechnic's entry requirements for NITEC Holders.

  GPA is obtained every semester, whereas CGPA is the cumulative one obtained for all the semesters. The higher the GPA the better. As different subjects have different credit units, the GPA every semester may vary on your performance on different modules.

  Your awards and testimonies will add on to your portfolio which may be taken into consideration when you apply to SP.
